The color is exactly as in the photo, the handle is typical linen - a bit rough, but super pleasant on the skin. We have now put it on in winter and are surprised that it is much warmer than the smooth cotton sheets we had on before. It looks as if the volume of the blanket is fuller and better insulating due to the creased surface of the cover. We are absolutely thrilled because it is really cozy and warm. Very great! I washed it beforehand at 40 degrees and put it in the dryer at the delicate laundry setting (modern dryer whose heating output is really accurate) - a lot of fluff came out (in the sieve) and the laundry was even nicer afterwards.
